Will this be able to handle my extreme grinding?

The most common version of this question comes from people who think they grind harder than most, hard enough that nothing they've bought has held up.

The guard doesn't work by being tougher than your grinding. It works by spreading the load across the whole arch instead of letting it collect on the two teeth that hit first. Grinding harder doesn't change whether that happens. It changes how often you replace it.

What if it doesn't fit right the first time?

Boil it again and start over. The material softens back down every time, so a bad first fit isn't a ruined guard, it's a redo. Most people get it on the first or second try, and you can refit it as many times as you need.

Is it for top or bottom teeth?

Either one. It ships flat and unformed, so the arch you press it onto is the arch it becomes. Most people go with the top, but bottom works the same way.

How do I clean them?

Cool or lukewarm water only, never hot. Rinse it after each use and let it dry fully before it goes back in the case. A soft toothbrush and non abrasive paste works for anything the rinse doesn't get.
